2020 Ashley Schlag Memorial Soccer Scholarship
Recipient: Taylor Sousa
February, 2020
Congratulations Taylor!

Taylor has been demonstrating exceptional skills on the pitch from a very early age. At 13, she was named to the Manitoba Provincial Team and was the youngest player named to Team Manitoba’s 2017 Canada Summer Games. A member of the REX and Super Rex Programs, Taylor has played with the Manitoba Blizzard and is currently a member of the Valour FC Elite Girls. Despite the long hours of training and studying, she also found the time to volunteer and give back to her community. Her contribution to Canadian soccer will continue at MacEwan University where she will be studying Sport Psychology.
To quote one of her references, “As a teacher, she is the kind of student you enjoy having in your classroom. As a guidance counselor, she is the kind of kid you truly appreciate having in your building. As a coach, she is the leader and team player that is asset to any successful program.”

We were honoured to have been able to meet you and your family at the Awards Evening. You are a special young woman with a wonderful heart. Best of luck in all you do. Thank-you for being such a worthy recipient of this scholarship!
In appreciation...
First we want to thank all of the applicants who applied. The applicants have consistently been exceptional young women and it is challenging to pick one winner each year. We wish we could award each one.
Thank-you to all our generous supporters! Our corportate sponsors and special supports, those who have volunteers, participated in, or donated to the Moves Like Schlager tournaments. We are grateful to all our supporters who enable us to continue to award the Ashley Schlag Memorial Scholarship soccer award each year. This holds a very special meaning for us.
