Community Initiatives

Giving Back

In addition to the two annual $1000.00 scholarships awarded in Ashley's memory, we have also sought opportunities to support the local community. Below are a few examples of how the Ashley Schlag Memorial Scholarship and Fund has been able to give back to the communities that meant so much to Ashley and her family. None of these initiatives would haven been possible without the generous support of all those who have made donations, participated in our fundraising events, and volunteered over the years. Thank-you all so much!

Oakbank and Anola Community Clubs

In 2018 the Ashley Schlag Memorial Soccer Scholarship and Fund was thrilled to be able to donate $ 9400.00 for new soccer nets for both Anola and Oakbank Community Clubs.

Cooks Creek Community Club

In 2019 the Ashley Schlag Memorial Soccer Scholarship and Fund was able to contribute about $5000 to the Cooks Creek Community Centre Expansion Project for the installation of a new water station.

South Whiteshell Trail Bench

The Ashley Schlag Memorial Soccer Scholarship and Fund was able to donate $6000 for a bench through the South Whiteshell Trail Association in 2021. We were so grateful to be able to donate this bench which is located on the shore of Penniac Bay of West Hawk Lake where Ashley and her family made so many amazing memories.
