Recipient: Madeline Comeau
February 27, 2016

In appreciation...

First we want to thank all of the applicants who applied. The applicants have consistently been exceptional young women and it is challenging to pick one winner each year. We wish we could award each one.

Thank-you to all our generous supporters! Our corportate sponsors and special supports, those who have volunteers, participated in, or donated to the Moves Like Schlager tournaments. We are grateful to all our supporters who enable us to continue to award the Ashley Schlag Memorial Scholarship soccer award each year. This holds a very special meaning for us.

Congratulations Maddy!

Maddy has been playing soccer at the provincial and national level for several years. A strong work ethic and commitment to self-improvement has been central to her success. Her energy on and off the field makes her a team, coach, and teacher favourite. Despite an agressive playing style, she maintains sportsmanship and is known as a cheerleader for others.

Maddy has also excelled in academics and is a valued school leader. Despite all her success, she remains humble and appreciative and proven herself as a young woman with great integrity. Maddy has demonstrated kindness and compassion for others, becoming the bridge between different groups to promote inclusiveness.  To quote one of her references, "She is the girl you hope your daughters grow up to be."

Maddy has been selected by the South Dakota State University to play in the NCAA Division 1 program. She will be studying Journalism and Mass Communication with hopes to become either a journalist or a human rights lawyer.

Maddy, we are honoured to be able to play a small role in acknowledging your exceptional character and you have our heartfelt wishes for all the best in your future!
