About Ashley and the Scholarship
Ashley was a beautiful young woman living in the Oakbank area of Manitoba. Ashley’s life ended tragically on August 28, 2012 at the age of 17 as the result of a traffic accident. Her life goals were to represent Canada in international soccer competition and to attend university studying for a career that would enable her to help others. It is our goal to help Ashley realize this dream of helping others through establishing this scholarship in her name.

Fundraising
We would like to announce that in addition to continuing to award the two scholarships annually, the Ashley Schlag Memorial Scholarship team is embarking on an exciting new mission!
As many Springfield residents know, we have long been in need of better recreation facilities for our growing community of families. We believe we can make a real difference by committing our fundraising and organizational efforts toward this worthy cause. Providing a place to gather with others and have fun while supporting sport and promoting community spirit is a mission that fits perfectly with Ashley’s legacy!
We wanted you to know that your donations to the Ashley Schlag Memorial Scholarship and Fund will be put toward this goal and that we do this to honour both the memory of our daughter and to give back to a community that has given us so much.
